Delete your data

How to remove what Crossing: Travel Phrasebook, from Inginity LLC, keeps on your phone and in the cloud.

On your phone

Delete the Crossing app. That removes the saves, history, settings and translation models it keeps on your phone, including every save about health, diet, emergencies or access needs. Those never leave your phone in the first place.

In the cloud

When Crossing is online, our database keeps a random app ID with your other favorites, your saved Situations, your practice progress, the languages you compare and your display settings. If you created an account, it also holds your email address and sign-in details. Otherwise it doesn't include your name, email address or phone number.

Remove a single save

Remove a favorite or saved Situation in the app. It's deleted from our database too the next time your phone is online.

Delete your account, in the app

If you created an account:

  1. Open Crossing, tap Profile, then Account.
  2. Tap Delete account, read what it removes, and confirm it's you with your password, or with Apple or Google.

It deletes your account, your email address and sign-in details, and everything synced to it: your favorites, saved Situations, practice progress, languages and display settings. Crossing then starts again with a new random ID. Your subscription isn't cancelled (see below).

Delete everything, in the app

This is the quickest way, and it doesn't need us.

  1. Open Crossing and tap Profile.
  2. Under Privacy & data, tap Delete synced data.
  3. Read what it removes, then tap Delete.

It deletes your random app ID and everything stored under it: your synced favorites, your saved Situations, your practice progress, the languages you compare and your display settings. Crossing then starts again with a new random ID. The saves and practice progress on your phone stay where they are, including everything about health, diet, emergencies or access needs — that never left it.

Your subscription isn't cancelled, because Premium belongs to your App Store or Google Play account rather than to the ID we deleted. If Premium doesn't come back by itself, tap Restore purchases in Profile. To stop it renewing, cancel it in your store settings (here's how).

One record is out of the app's reach: our subscription provider's record of purchases made under that ID. If you want that removed too, email us before you use the button — afterwards the only way we can find it is your store order number.

If the app says it couldn't finish, write to us and we'll complete it.

Or ask us to delete everything

  1. Email info@inginity.studio with the subject "Delete my Crossing data".
  2. Help us find your data. The simplest way is your Support ID: in the app, open Profile, and copy it from Privacy & data. If you can't, and you have or had Premium, include the order number from your App Store or Google Play receipt instead; otherwise tell us roughly when you started using Crossing and which phone you use.
  3. We'll confirm we have your request within two business days, finish within 30 days, and tell you when it's done.

Without a Support ID or a Premium order number, what we hold isn't linked to your name, email or phone number, so we may not be able to tell which records are yours. If we can't, we'll tell you, and in that case we can't connect those records to you either.

Deleting your data doesn't cancel a subscription. Cancel Premium in your App Store or Google Play settings first (here's how).

What we delete when you ask us

The buttons in the app remove the first three. The rest we do by hand, when you email us.

  • Your account, with its email address and sign-in details, if you created one
  • Your random app ID
  • Your synced favorites, saved Situations, practice progress, languages and display settings
  • Our subscription service's record linked to your app ID
  • Earlier emails from you, apart from this request
